I guess you could customize its use for other types of presentations, but the whole package stinks of Judeo-Christianity, so I wouldn't touch it with a ten thousand pixel pole. OpenSong is rather handy if you're into this kind of Bible sing-along stuff. Fully customizable font styles and sizes with shadowing and outlining. You can edit the text style of everything that is displayed, and you can also set icons and backgrounds that are to be shown behind. With all this, the editing style is not lost. You can also insert custom slides, such as announcements or schedules or whatever content you need to fill up the hour. The passages can be picked up from the Scripture Lookup dialog. In it, you can queue up multiple songs and also insert Bible passages. The Slide Editor is used for more complex content. For example, you may designate a chorus verse and have it displayed every so often from the Presentation field without needing to copy it and paste it all throughout the document. However, the Presentation field allows you to set the-the sequence in which these verses are ordered. Split verses will cover multiple slides, but they will still be shown as part of a single verse in the control list. When performing, each verse will have its own slide. OpenSong uses a system of tags that let you set the verses and also split bigger verses to make them easier to view on the screen. The main editable area, the Chords/Lyrics, is where you can input and edit the content. In the Song Editor screen, you can create new songs or choose from the saved songs list. It also comes with its very own KJV Bible, so it's pretty clear what it's being used for. On contrary, OpenSong comes with a selection of Christian songs that can be added with the base installation. You might say "But Johnny, there's nothing inherently Christian about these features". OpenSong can be used either to recite scripture or to follow along with singing songs.
